Adwords Setup For People Without Experience

Google Adwords can be a real pain to set up for someone without experience with the software. I know it’s a little different than other marketing programs you might be familiar with, but you must understand how the software works before you begin.

When people ask me how to start an AdWords campaign, I usually give them a quick overview of setting up the account. That’s not what I want to cover in this blog post. I want to protect why AdWords is a good choice, how to set up a campaign, create campaigns, manage your ads, and analyze data. AdWords is the most powerful advertising platform on the planet. If you don’t know anything about AdWords, this post is for you!

If you’re reading this, there’s a chance you’re not very familiar with AdWords. If that’s the case, you might wonder how to set up an account. I’m going to walk through how to get started with AdWords. In addition to covering the basics, I’ll show.

I’m going to walk through how to get started with AdWords. In addition to covering the basics, I’ll show you the features that make this program so powerful.

There are four main components to AdWords:

Campaigns: These are the different ad groups you create.

Ads: These are the personal ads you make within each movement.

Keywords: These are the words you want your ad to match.

Negative keywords are words you don’t want your ad to reach.

AdWords also comes with an analytics package to track performance and measure ROI.

All of this is available for free, so it’s easy to start a campaign.

Set Up Your Google Analytics Account

Setting up a Google Analytics account is the first step in any business. It’s important because it lets you track and evaluate your web traffic. This includes things like site traffic, conversions, and search keywords. Google Analytics is a free tool that enables you tou measure the performance of your website. You can use it to understand the overall health of your website, see which pages and posts perform best, and monitor your traffic. Once you’ve set up your Google Analytics account, you can start to optimize it. You can do this by looking at the data and comparing it to industry standards.

Get An Email Verification Code

You can create an AdWords account once you have a verified email address.

Go to https://adwords.google.com.

Click on the Create an AdWords Account button.

Enter your first and last name.

Enter your email address.

Select a password.

Enter your phone number.

Check the boxes to agree to the terms and conditions.

Click the Get Verified button.

You should receive an email shortly after registering. Click the verification link.

Enter your username and password when prompted.

Click the Sign In button.

Click the blue Get Started button.

Click the green Start Ads button.

You’re now ready to create your first AdWords ad.

Select An Advertiser ID

When you start your AdWords campaign, you’ll have a screen asking for an advertiser ID. This is a unique identifier you’ll use throughout your entire AdWords experience. Advertiser IDs are unique numbers assigned to each advertiser, such as a business, brand, or individual. This allows AdWords to track performance and optimize campaigns for different clients. If you’re a beginner, you can use a generic Advertiser ID, such as “Google Adwords.”

But if you’re experienced, you can create a custom Advertiser ID to reflect your brand better and target more specific keywords. I use “Fritz” for my personal AdWords account. I’ve been using this Advertiser ID for years. It’s an AdWords trick that has helped me get over 50 million clicks.

How do you create an Advertiser ID?

  1. Log into your AdWords account.
  2. Click on the AdWords tab in the top navigation.
  3. Scroll down to Manage your ad groups and click on Advertisers on the left.
  4. From the Choose an advertiser menu, choose Create an advertiser.
  5. Add an Advertiser name and an Advertiser ID.
  6. Add keywords and targeting options.
  7. Click Save and create an Advertiser.

You’re done!

Selecting a landing page for your AdWords campaign is the first step in setting up an effective AdWords campaign. It’s your most important decision because this is where you’ll direct traffic from. If you aren’t sure where to direct traffic, you should start by selecting a page on your website that you want to rank for certain keywords.

I recommend creating a Google Analytics page and using a tool like Google Tag Manager to track conversions. This will help you determine if you’re going to succeed with AdWords or not. After that, you should go to AdWords and select Campaign Settings. You’ll need to create a new campaign and pick a name for it.

Optimize Your Ads

Your ads are integral to your AdWords account, and you must optimize them carefully. The more you understand, the better your results will be.

You can use the AdWords interface to monitor your ads. The first thing you need to do is “optimize your ad copy.” This is the first step in “optimizing” an ad.

When you optimize an ad, you ensure that it has a high click-through rate and that your ads are relevant to the keywords you’re bidding on.

Let’s return to our example of an account with $20/month in spending.

If you’re starting an AdWords campaign, you’ll want to start with a budget of $10.

You can spend a few dollars more if you’d like, but this is a good place to start.

After you set your budget, you’ll want to choose the type of campaign you’re creating. There are four options:

  • Conversion Campaign – You’re making an ad to drive conversions. You’re bidding on keywords to get leads or sales.
  • Display Campaign – You’re creating an ad to drive impressions. You’re bidding on keywords to get eyeballs on your ads.

Choose A Budget

1. Low

A low budget is great for testing out a single idea. You can set a budget for one day and see how much money you spend on each ad.

2. Medium

A medium budget is a good choice to test out a few ideas.

You can set a budget for one month or set it up to run indefinitely. This will help you find the best time to advertise.

3. High

A high budget will give you a better ROI if you want to run a full-blown campaign. I set a budget of $300 for a 30-day campaign. I’m able to see how much money I spent on each ad. The yellow line shows the actual funding, and the blue line indicates the cost per click. As you can see, my cost per click is over $0.40. While that may seem like a lot, it’s not that bad. You’ll get the same results with a medium budget but spend more money.

Start Your Campaign

You will learn how to set up an AdWords account. This process is pretty straightforward, and if you’re already familiar with Google Analytics, you can skip this section. AdWords is a paid platform, but it’s an affordable one. It’s an excellent tool for advertisers looking to improve their visibility. While running a successful campaign on Google’s Display Network is possible, I recommend starting with the AdWords platform.
